Anthrax is endemic in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba. Practitioners may have or will encounter situations where anthrax is suspected. Recently several cases received by Prairie Diagnostic Services (PDS) have been packaged incorrectly, potentially putting PDS employees that receive these samples at risk.
